Moving a Table Horizontally with Anchors

This table uses invisible anchor-links to move the page along.
Click on the links to see it in action.

It's clearly not the most elegant ways of moving a table sideways, but
there may be times when it's just what you want, for example,
to display a map or other very long content.
(for an example of this, go to Eating Massachusetts and click on
'open remote control!'

All that's needed to create the effect is a table that is far longer than the
visible browser area, with links places throughout to help in
navigating it. (note: this text uses <BR> tags to break the lines, so that
it is sure to be contained in the visible browser window!)


To create an Anchor:

Place your cursor at the place you want to jump TO and
insert the following code:
<a name="name_of_anchor_here"></a>
Then, move to the place you want to jump from and create a link
like this:
<a href="#name_of_anchor_here">Write your Link </a>

Remember:
Anchor Names are Case Sensitive
Anchor Names cannot start with a numeral
